Meet Mark Antakli

Mark graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and then continued his education at the University of Michigan, earning a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a Finance Concentration. He graduated with distinction and was accepted into Beta Gamma Sigma, the National Honor Society for Business Schools.

In addition to his degrees, Mark has an extensive business background in the automotive and building envelope industries. He has decades of experience in sales and management and utilized his finance background to support board and management activities, including forecasts, budgets, cost savings initiatives, financial analysis, and stakeholder relationships.

Mark has lived most of his life in Oakland County. He graduated from Brother Rice High School and purchased his first home in Beverly Hills in 2001. From 2008-2018, he lived and worked overseas. During his time overseas, Mark remained connected to his Michigan roots. He participated in the University of Michigan’s Hail Program and interviewed College of Engineering applicants residing in the Dubai area. He also supported his alma mater at the U.S. Embassy National Day Events promoting relationships between the UAE and the U.S. In the fall of 2018, Mark and Rosette moved their family back to Michigan and settled in Bloomfield Township. Mark and Rosette have three sons: Nicholas, Christopher, and Alexander.

Why Mark is Running for Treasurer

  • I will work to reinstate a Consolidated Operating Budget.
    • Provide transparency by showing where all revenue will come from and what expenses are planned.
    • Show resident if the Township is operating with a balanced, surplus or deficit budget.
    • Consolidated budgets are recommended by Michigan’s Department of Treasury.
  • I will work to reinstate a 10-year financial plan.
    • Show our revenue, expenses, and debt projections year by year for a rolling 10 year period.
    • Help the Township make strategic decisions and provide long-term fiscal responsibility.
    • Help the Township predict and address financial challenges before they become large financial issues/burdens, saving taxpayers money.
  • I stand for total transparency, as the first two points demonstrate.
    • Transparency makes for better governance.
    • I will make sure you have access to all records.
  • I will work a 5-day week for you.
    • Current Treasurer works a 4-day week.
  • I will not accept a taxpayer paid car as an exorbitant perk for doing my job.
    • I will turn in the Ford Expedition the current Treasurer uses 24/7/365 at your expense.
